See you in Bellevue at AMD Fusion12 Developer Summit
The AMD Fusion12 Developer Summit (AFDS) supports a new era of innovation and the open technologies on which it is being built – OpenCL™, OpenGL, Microsoft DirectCompute, and C++ AMP.
AFDS is the best place to expand your open platform development skill set. Participate in content-loaded sessions across 10 tracks, including tutorials and hands-on labs. Get detailed, actionable tips and a deeper understanding of heterogeneous computing and the expanding possibilities it offers. Collaborate with pioneers, experts, and senior AMD technologists who are helping define the future of heterogeneous computing.
When we hosted the inaugural AFDS in 2011, we had initially envisioned a small, intimate forum for developers to discuss heterogeneous computing and the future of Accelerated Processing Units (APUs). Of course, as history has since shown, our expectations were far exceeded by the sheer number of attendees, partners, industry analysts and press from around the world who came to teach, share and learn. Our keynotes drew in hundreds as we heard from industry leaders including Phil Rogers, AMD Corporate Fellow; Jem Davies, ARM Fellow and VP of Technology; Herb Sutter, Microsoft Principal Architect; Graham Brown, Chief Technology Officer of Corel and Eric Demers, AMD VP and Graphics Division CTO.
During those four days our partners showcased a variety of technologies from futuristic, visually rich multimedia and user interfaces for gaming, graphics and program modeling, as well as enterprise software and hardware technologies and solutions. I was amazed by the enthusiasm of the developers and impressed with the technology and demos they showed.
As we look towards AFDS this year, I can’t help but wonder what awaits. As always, our goal is to bring together the best and brightest to discuss the future of heterogeneous computing, open technologies and the expanding possibilities they both offer. Of course, we wouldn’t be upset if we broke through our attendance record from 2011 and welcomed even more guests to our four day getaway in Bellevue, Washington!
