ATI Catalyst™ Software: A Proven Track Record in Performance, Stability and Innovation

Historically, AMD drivers have been more stable than our competitors’, and today I thought I’d revisit our commitment to providing people with the best PC experience possible.

As many of you know, we post monthly ATI Catalyst driver updates. We’re the only company in the PC industry to have made that public commitment, and we’ve been delivering on that promise for 6 years and counting. We heard feedback from notebook users that they were keen to get regular graphics driver updates. And so, in 2005 we announced support for mobile drivers which would see the same monthly schedule as the desktop drivers and install easily on any AMD supported notebook. Our commitment is that these monthly driver updates always include new features and improvements in three major areas: performance, stability and innovation.

For example, a key feature of the  ATI Catalyst 10.2 graphics driver was the ability to allow fans of ATI CrossFireX™ multi GPU technology to take advantage of the additional graphics horsepower to increase game performance or image quality settings when using ATI Eyefinity mutli-display technology.  Since games are released throughout the year (and definitely not on a monthly schedule), we aim to deliver game performance optimization quickly. With the release of ATI Catalyst 10.2, AMD decided to post separate executable files on AMD.com that would allow users to install game profiles to get access to the latest application profiles for improved performance.

With the ATI Catalyst 10.3 graphics driver update, our team further enhanced the ATI Eyefinity experience, allowing users to access an easy-to-use wizard that gave them the ability to adjust their display layout to compensate for monitor bezels, adjust brightness, color and contrast for each individual monitor for greater customization, and calibrate each screen in their ATI Eyefinity set-up. Finally, we are pleased to share new Windows and Linux features found in the latest ATI Catalyst 10.4 driver, including video and AMD video transcoding enhancements. You can download the latest drivers here.

Based on  ATI Catalyst 10.3 software improvements on ATI Radeon HD 5000 series graphics cards, we tracked performance improvements in many of today’s latest DirectX™ 11 game titles including DiRT 2, Crysis, and Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X.1

From game profiles to ATI Eyefinity enhancements and mobile support, we have clearly demonstrated our commitment to developing hardware and software in order to help enable the best experience possible, addressing the needs of everyone from casual gamers to mobile users to high-end enthusiasts. The visual experience users get from today’s PC is made possible as much by the driver software as the features of the graphics hardware and, while AMD took the lead, today we’re glad to see other industry players follow suit.

Complete BS, your ATI catalyst is very basic. I have to install third party software to compensate the lack of options in the catalyst. I spent hours one day upgrading and had to buy a software to clean up the ATI drivers before i can install ATI driver!!! which ATI should compensate me for the money i paid for that software. I have tried ATI and i’m not happy with it unless i see major improvements within catalyst, my next card is going to be from NV because i like their software and i don’t mind paying extra because i’m donating anyway for those third party softwares.

I’ve been building and maintaining computers for nearly twenty years, but I’d nearly forgotten the frustration installing an ATI driver and software could cause until the last couple of months when I’ve had to do three ATI installs on different machines. One install took a full weekend of head-scratching, old driver-file hunting, reinstallation and registry cleaning. Another took a complete morning. A third is now on hold after refusing to work in a new Asus motherboard (no digital output at all). This morning, after thinking I’d gotten everything settled on the first computer, I found the primary and secondary monitors had again switched places — something I thought I had put an end to a couple of weeks ago. … At least — when they’re working — I’ve found the cards work pretty well. But I’ve got to tell you, ATI, the installation experience hasn’t changed much in at last the last ten years — it’s not much fun.

From 10.2 – 10.4 ATI’s cc has been a pain in my *** As my xfired 4870 system crashes a lot lot more (10.4 seems most stable although is still ****)
my quadfired 5970 system crashes nearly all the time (10.4 as 10.5/6 are just total ****)

I’ve spent a lot of money ATI espesially on these 2x 5970 xfx black edition cards & all I’ve had so far is crash after crash after crash using your older 10.4 cc/ drivers cause your latest 10.6 1′s are a joke… Dirt2 crashes straight away near enough…

FIX OUT THE XFIRE/ QUADFIRE ISSUES & MAKE ME HAPPY AGAIN, CAUSE IF NOT I’M GOING NVIDEA FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE !

    SORT THIS OUT !!!

I bought my 5750 a few days ago. The CD that came with it didn’t work, so I downloaded the drivers from the XFX website. All the latest software ran it just fine, until I restarted. I can’t do anything without it crashing. I reinstalled all of the drivers and it works fine, but only until I restart again.

I uninstalled CCC and all the others like Hyrda ect, and it now runs fine without any crashes. Only bad part is I can’t see the card’s temp (Which is over 50c on idle with an extra fan blowing on the card in a case with excellent airflow and fan speed set to 50%, but is usually only 60c during a heavy load) and I have no control for any of the card’s options like AA and Triple Buffering.

Fix the drivers and make me happy!

I want to know if there is an update or a replacement for my ATI HD 3200 series. It seems all the info I see concerns Win Vista. I am running Win 7,Home Premium, 64 bit. I am also not happy with un-installation issues with ATI.
