i have a problem with my sapphire 5770 which worked very well at first.after 3 months of using i experienced BLUE SCREEN PROBLEM.my OS is windows7 ultimate and in fact i updated my ati catalyst driver to 10.6.what’s really the problem with this card?is it hardware or software?any idea?
dear Ati.
what on earth are you guys doing?
you have some of the most powerfull hardware on the market today, yet it seems you have put al that effort in the hardware and not the software.
even though the videocard im currently using (5970 black edition) is 1 of the more powerfull cards out there today it seems useless because its unable to do anything for longer than 10 minutes before screwing me over and locking up.
i cant run any mainstream games without problems.
i have tried al available ati drivers from 10.2 up to 10.6.
some work for 1 or 2 games, but fail to support the rest properly.
please get your act together.
I don´t use the catalyst, the support provide in Win7 is enough. Moreover i can use page flip stereoscopic 3D with it. With CCC this is impossible. Crap!!!!!
this driver do not work well with the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5800 Series on the new asus g73h-j1 when you play for example battlefield bad company 2 it halt and show you vertical lines i am downgrading to 10.5 to give ti a try as per many friends its working great… I have also put the game on medium and disable vertical sync ans still did not work the 10.6 version of catalyst
I have also had a similar problem to Cristobal concerning the vertical lines since installing 10.6 version of catalyst, and have also considered re-installing version 10.5 the main difference is I have the HD4870x2, so this proves the problem is not limited to the 4xxx series, prior to this latest release I had no problems whatsoever, it makes me wonder if ATI have ever heard of the saying “If it aint broke don’t fix it”.
For some reasone ATI Catalyst was installed on my computer, but do not know when. I assume it was when my computer had problems and about 18 months ago and I arranged for an engineer to fix it. It was OK afterwards but a few weeks ago the problem returned and I decided it was the ATI Catalyst etc that was causing all the settings to malfunction so I uninstalled it. I did a system restore on the computer and it is working normally again. Today however I had a messages come up on the monitor asking me to put in the ATI Catalyst CD Rom that was installed at the time of the repair. This I do not have and do not want ATI installed again. What was it meant to do originally and should I download and update the programme again? Any advice would be appreciated.
