iBUYPOWER Awards AMD FX Family of CPUs its MAX Rating

By: The iBUYPOWER Team

At iBUYPOWER, we hate three things above all: SLOW frame rates, LAG time, and ORDINARY graphics.

Our main objective is to build systems that deliver the best desired PC gaming experience. One of the biggest questions we get from our customers before they purchase a system is: “Will it run _____?” (insert desired game here). To answer that question, we’ve created the Optimal Settings Program to give our customers the best indication of their system’s performance BEFORE buying the system. With this tool, we recommend the best-possible settings to our customers to run the game on their desired performance level (Low, Mid, High, Ultra, Max) for each unique system configuration.

Our recommended settings aim to maximize image quality while still being able to maintain a high level of performance. The “Optimal Setting” is what setting we think the game should be played at for a fluid frame rate, while maintaining as much graphical detail as possible. For most systems, the graphics card and CPUs are the primary influences on overall system performance and FPS (frames per second). In addition, the system’s ability to multi-task, run multiple demanding applications, and maintain high frame rates depend on a first-rate processor.

At iBUYPOWER, we are proud to be able to work with AMD to bring to PC gamers the first revolutionary eight-core desktop processor that not only screams performance, but also provides a great value, the AMD FX Family of CPUs. So where do these processors fit into our optimal settings program?

The answer: These processors are fast. Really fast. So fast that they own the Guinness World Record for the fastest overclock![1] We’re confident that with the right system configuration, the AMD FX processors will be able to handle any game you throw at it, so we’ve given AMD FX 8-core processors our MAX rating for Optimal settings (when paired with a powerful AMD Radeon™ GPU, of course).
