Get Your GamExperience on!
Working at AMD is cool. Simple as that.
About six months ago [H]ardOCP hosted a day of gaming for enthusiast in Dallas, Texas. I was fortunate enough to attend that event and was blown away with the raw energy in the room. Kyle Bennett of [H]ardOCP was the host for the day and members of his community were playing games, winning prizes and having a blast. And the 400 gamers that came to play that day left wanting more.
Never ones to disappoint, Kyle and I immediately started talking about the next – bigger and better – event.

Coming from Houston, that’s a long way to bounce my Rig. Will system’s be provided for those who are Playing? or is it BYOC?
cool
I love AMD FX, Is so much better then i7.
I bought a FX-4100 and it beats Intel i5 2500k
Really? Guess this is a AMD FanBoy site. Please stop drinking the cool-aid. Step back and actually look at the compariables. 2500k at $179.99 is a great deal for an awesome CPU.
I want to like the FX series of CPUs. But, can’t seem to do much better than SB/SB-E let alone the new IB coming out in 3 months. I have tested FX-4100/6100/8150 for over 2 weeks. Not even close to Intel Sandy Bridge 2500 or 2500k. Used all 990 motherboards (ASUS/Gigabyte/MSI) with at least 8gb DDR3. Used Windows 7/Windows 8/Ubunto/Windows Server 2008. Intel was able to beat them in about 98% of the test I ran.
Windows 8 does seem like it could provide some extra performance for FX chips. But still waiting on a more mature driver as i5-2500k still kills FX-8150 on any single to lightly threaded apps(1 to 3 threads). FX starts to catch up with massively threaded apps(4 to 8 threads).
But we still have the spectre of IB to watch out for, and I just wish I could release the benchmarks for that beast. Not very pretty for AMD on either the consumer or server side. Intel will have a defenite advantage for a while.
