btw, how are $50 motherboards possible?
is it because of the high current ram prices? $99 for 4GB is insane! from DDR2 to DDR3!

Still missing solid openGL 3.2 support for current drivers. As for 3.1 - this version surely works better then 9.10. Just bought hd4670 to replace my old 2600 :)

I echo the other complaints. Installed the 5770 card in a fresh Win7 64-bit install, and have had nothing but problems. In WoW, my fps dropped lower than the GeForce 8800 GTS I replaced when using the new 9.11 drivers. I rolled back to the drivers that came on the CD, and the fps is better, but now it locks up my PC. Screen turns all of one color and I have to reset.

I had similar issues with Radeon cards several years ago that prompted my to go to Nivida. I figured by now Radeon issues like this would be fixed. Very disappointed to see all the same problems and I'm considering returning the card to get a different Nvidia. What a bummer.

Fixed it by buying a VGA cable and using that so I could actually see Windows 7...finished the install and used the 9.11 drivers and - so far - it's all working (with the HDMI again).
Yay.

The same problem in new 9.11 as in 9.5-9.10 on Windows XP + Radeon 4850.

In some games, for example in Call of Duty 4, a noticeable fps drop has been experienced with drivers later than 9.4. On Cat 9.4 or earlier, has got 125-180 fps, but with Catalyst 9.5 - 9.11 has only 40-50 fps on same locations. Try to switch on and off AA and AF - no change, 45 fps even with noAA. When roll back to 9.3 or 9.4 - everything becomes fine ( 125+ fps with 4AA). It seems to be something wrong in new drivers series for WinXP. So its the same problem with new drivers just like it's described on http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/2764/ati_catalyst_9_5_vista_driver_analysis/index5.html

I have the same problem as #21. Using Windows 7 and Vista 32 bit dual boot on separate hard drives. Using 9-8 drivers, system crashes to blue screen minidump on some games on Windows 7. Arkham Asylum is fine but Left 4 Dead crashes. No problems at all using Windows Vista. Trying to upgrade to 9-11 drivers, system dumps to same blue screen. I cannot upgrade to 9-11 drivers. I've tried uninstalling all ATI software and drivers through Add/Remove but system still crashes during driver upgrade. I'm using an Intel MB, Core i7, 6 gigs Triple RAM. A minidump viewer isololates driver - halmacpi.dll and atikmdag.sys - might be responsible, bug check string reads "UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP"

I need help installing newer version of 9-11 drivers if this will resolve my issue.

Thanks

I'm 100% sure the HD3K series supports DXVA2. I'm making heavy use of that with my HD3850 video card. If flash acceleration doesn't work on the HD3k series, its because AMD is intentionally limiting the drivers.

I have the 4200 IGP and I see no acceleration via HULU with Flash 10.1 installed using the 9.11 catalyst drivers.

Anyone else see the same thing or different?

Rumour has it (http://gofedora.com/news-ati-catalyst-graphics-drivers-9-11-released/) Fedora 12 may be supported in this release.

I know a lot of the OEMs think of Fedora as a RedHat beta distro. Unfortunately those of us who live and work on Fedora don't really see it that way. AMD/ATI support for Linux is very welcome.

If the driver development team wants any help in keeping pace with Fedora release dates, please let us know. I think AMD/ATI is doing a great job. (BTW, HP DM3z rocks on Fedora).

Extremely disappointed I bought this card to play Age of Conan in high rez, instead I have had to put my old nvidia card back in, it may be slower but at least it works. The drivers this card ships with dont work in game and the 9.11 drivers make the freezing and hanging problem worse. So now I have to convince the seller to take your goods which are not fit for purpose back, very frustrating

hello
I have an HD4870 in my 2 month old Dell...when I ran the Windows 7 upgrade I just get a black screen after the splash screen. I have tried to add the 9.11 drivers by booting off the CD and choosing "load driver" but it tells me they're not valid? Safe mode tells me to complete the install before I can use it and low res mode just gives the black screen again. A format and reinstall gave the same result...any ideas, please?
(i'm using a Sony LCD TV as the monitor via HDMI)
