I hope AMD will not give up its share in globalfoundries. I think it's a best thing AMD could do as a shareholders and a customers that GLOBALFOUNDIRES will be get additional capital from AMD based on its performances and achievements.

So it seems fusion is all about letting the cpu do 'only' what it is good at doing and the gpu that which it is good at and letting them do that fast...

I might actually buy a 'Dorado' PC if they sell the motherboards as 'Bulldozer compatible'.

Well, what can I say to AMD, except, "...GO GET 'EM TIGER...!!!"
:)
and after:
well,
1st:/ ... when this smoke clears, (aka Intel gets KO'd in the Market finally!) I think nvidia/amd/ati will be the "new" standard-setters for the future CPU/GPU chip designs for the "new" PC"s, Apples', ...
2nd:/ Intel will finally get what it deserves, namely, a level-playing-field in this market only - 'jus like everyone else.
3rd:/ AMD should name their next-BIG-gen CPU "TIGER", and AMD's next-gen GPU will obviously have to be named "EYE OF THE TIGER"

;)
Good Luck.

PS,
I know they were/are your customers'/distributors/no-names mentioned/..., but I think those "double-dealin', bribe-accepting other" cheaters should be sued as well - because the real victims over all of this has been us, namely, the Comsumers' of the world.
And lets face it, -WE ARE YOUR REAL CUSTOMERS !!!

I disagree. I think AMD really is just patting themselves on the back for an award they do not deserve. The management team in particular are not as transparent as this post suggests.

INTC is trying to diverge the EU court from the truth. The point is what they had done to squeeze out AMD is a fact. AMD must win.

AMD will have bright future.

There is a business model, really a possible feature of cloud computing that I find so interesting as to be definitive.

Subscription based general content exchanges. They don't attach IP. They don't allow ads or sponsorship. The tools are free. Posting is as easy as browsing and payment is made on the basis of how much attention is paid to a piece of content.

The pricing for the end user is generic and the pricing minus overhead is generic outlays on posted content. The exchanges are dumb pipe/platforms, neutral but possibly bundling in ISP fees. The are redundant and expansive to the point that in practice they would always pit actual content against any attempt to advertise.

Its not utopian its just that between user generated search new "efficient search" there doesn't seem to be any room for demand creation or ads in general. Net seems to displace publishing and media as well because people are active to the point of wanting dialog vice canned consensus.

Also game streaming seems like it will be the killer application for these content exchanges and cloud in general, it will be what kicks it off.

Real World Effects engines redefined how we interact in a virtual environment like games with life like experiences. These applications will comprise of :
1. Real Time Physics engine that simulates real physics like a melted candle and a burning tree.
2. Real World Ray Tracing that combines sun rays and sky.
3. Live sound effects with True Surrond using HD sounds.

Wow, it's amazing!!! Despite using third party chipset vendor, AMD still can leverages the high performances of their server microprocessor. Especially using Broadcom chipset that have native 10 gigabit ethernet.
Hmm, since future server platform will come from AMD only, it is true that your solutions included 10 gigabit ethernet from your chip product? I hope AMD will innovate again in this market. I still remember that AMD is the first ethernet vendor with magic packet technology that developed with your partner HP. I hope AMD will use again their former employee that have been develop and designing ethernet product that discontinue in last century especially David Stoenner who is the best field applications engineer, one of AMD former employee.

Although AMD have a completed platform (CPU and Graphics accelerator), but I did not hear about AMD promotions and partnerships to University around the world to push them to using AMD platforms. I think AMDcan promotes about High Performances Computing (HPC) to the University like one Department and Faculty with one high performances computing. I think it is possible using AMD commodity hardware with right another peripherals to build a 1 petaflops HPC with budget less than US$ 250.000 in this case one AMD workstation that worth US$ 1200 with 5 teraflops performance connected each other with point to point crossfire and dual/triple gigabyte networking. AMD will assisted to help them to build a HPC and demonstrated the peak performances to them.

Marc, thanks for your comment. While Intel does have the right to appeal, the EC's ruling, penalties and remedies are effective immediately. So, while Intel has already said that it plans to appeal, it must comply immediately with the remedies and do so throughout the appeal process. That means no more payments conditioned on exclusivity, no coercion, no threats or intimidation.

Eye opening news for those who blindly put forth their faith on Intel. Intel will rapidly lose market share due to EC fine however they will definitely appeal against the verdict. Michael what do you say about the possible circumstances of appeal?

Agree with your points regarding choice. AMD has always been and continues to be a firm believer in choice. However, this decision was not solely AMD's but rather a mutual business decision between AMD and Broadcom and Nvidia.

Please note that at no time have we said that we wont work with 3rd party server chipset providers, we just don't have any plans to at this time in the context of our next gen server platforms.
