4. Entry Period: The Contest begins on December 10 at 9am CT and ends December 23 at 12am CT.  Entries that are submitted before or after the Entry Period will be disqualified.

5. Submission: Entrants are invited to submit an entry after the posting of the 12th and final blog post associated with the Contest.  Each of the 12 blog posts associated with the Contest will contain one “Clue.”  The twelve Clues combine to spell out the Final Phrase. “Clues” are indicated as bolded, underlined words within the blog posts (i.e., this is a clue). Each blog post associated with the Contest will only have one Clue. Once the 12th and final blog has been posted, 12 Clues will have been revealed within the blogs.  At this point, readers will able to submit the Final Phrase via an entry form embedded in the 12th blog post for a period (“Submission Period”) of approximately 48 hours beginning immediately after the posting of the 12th blog post.  The 12th blog post will identify the end of the “Submission Period.” All entries received during the Submission Period and deemed in Sponsor’s sole discretion to correctly include the Final Phrase will then be placed in a random drawing conducted by Sponsor to determine a winner.  To be eligible, an entry must contain all information requested in the entry form embedded in the 12th blog post (including entrant’s e-mail address and the Final Phrase).  Entries containing more information than this may be disqualified, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion.

Any personal data an entrant submits will be stored on servers in Canada and the United States of America.  Where applicable, entry into the Contest constitutes entrant’s consent to the export of any personal data collected by Sponsor to the United States of America and its use there only for the purposes of administering this Contest and associated processing (e.g., but not limited to back-up, archiving). Entrants’ personal data will be stored on these servers and used for the purposes of administering this Contest and associated processing of entries.  For further information about how Sponsor manages your personal data, please see Sponsor’s privacy policy at http://www.amd.com/us/aboutamd/Pages/privacy.aspx.

Limit: One (1) entry per person and one (1) entry per e-mail address.  Any attempt to exceed the maximum number of entries, whether through use of multiple e-mail accounts or any automated system may result in disqualification.  Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, invalid, altered, unintelligible or misdirected entries, which will be void.   In the event of a dispute as to who submitted an entry, the person demonstrating to Sponsor’s satisfaction, as determined in Sponsor’s sole discretion, that he or she is the authorized holder of the e-mail account will be deemed to be the entrant.  The “authorized holder of the e-mail account” is the natural person assigned by an Internet access provider, online service provider, Internet service provider or other similar organization to the email address used to post the comment.

6. Winner Notification: The potential prize winner will be notified by e-mail after the random drawing.  The potential prize winner must reply to the notification with any requested information within five (5) days of the time the win notification was sent.  The potential prize winner may be required to sign and return to Sponsor, within ten (10) days of the date notice is sent, a confirmation of an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability and Publicity Release (if a legal resident of the United States) (“Affidavit”) or a Declaration of Compliance (if a legal resident of Canada) (“Declaration”) (except where prohibited) in order to claim his/her prize.  If the potential winner cannot be contacted, fails to respond to the notification within five (5) days (if applicable), or fails to sign and return the Affidavit and Release or Declaration within the required time period (if applicable), he/she forfeits the applicable prize and another random drawing from among all remaining eligible entries will be performed.

The odds of winning a prize depend upon the number of eligible entries received, and upon the time the entries are received.

    Dear AMD,
How come all competitions such as this are solely aimed at the America consumers. Your company is not the only international, American based IT company that does this.

It’s a shame for such a large, international company to only offer these types of competitions to North America. You do know there are many loyal customers in the EU. And considering the only **real** place where antitrust cases are dealt with is in the EU by the EC, you would think that you would treat our market equally with N.America.

    Kind Regards
    A.H.Aladhal

Many have shared this view with me. We really do not mean to slight anyone. In 2011 we will explore broadening the scope of the contests. Right now the challenge is effectively navigating the specific rules for every area of the world. Thanks for your note and best wishes in the new year.
