Even though I'm a little bit further north of Saratoga (about 15 mins.), the AMD factory has been a frequent story in our paper, though the most recent one stated that there was again another hold up.

One of the bigger industries in this area is medical manufacturing with companies like Angio Dynamics, C.R. Bard, Navilyst, TYCO (sp?), and Praxis, but job security has been more than a bit flaky with many of those companies, so to have a big name like AMD coming in and creating 1500+ jobs is most definitely news worthy.

My only question is, I haven't seen anything in regards to applying for training or anything of that nature. What does this taxi driver know that I don't?
