Extending Our Relationship

by Guest Blogger

Here at SGI, we’ve been significantly broadening our relationship with AMD. This started with wide-ranging support for the AMD Opteron™ 6100 Series processors earlier this year and now continues with the AMD Opteron™ 4100 Series processors. Available in both our Rackable™ and CloudRack™ server lines, our latest server models offer excellent price/performance and feature highly energy-efficient configurations.  In addition to data center deployments with up to 1,108 AMD Opteron 4100 processor cores in a single cabinet, the new systems can easily be deployed in SGI’s ICE Cube™ modular data centers, achieving a PUE under 1.12 in many climates.

This newest collaboration is allowing us to deliver very compelling systems for the Internet, Cloud and other markets where extreme power efficiency and density are the overriding factors.
